Eugene is a senior manager in the TICE Industry Group for the Audit and Assurance Group of PwC working in the To- ronto Royal Trust Office. Since first joining the firm in 2003, Eugene has gained extensive experience both working at PwC and from working in industry.
After leaving PwC’s Audit practice in March 2006, Eugene worked in PwC’s Deals practice, providing financial due diligence and transactions services, and worked as the CFO of Healthscreen Solutions Inc. – an emerging software company that trades on the TSX-V – where he was directly involved in completing two rounds of financing, three acquisitions, and establishing a financial close reporting process, growing the finance department from one person to nine people, and overseeing two separate accounting system conversions.
In October 2008, Eugene rejoined PwC’s Audit and Assurance Group and now specializes in PwC’s Emerging Company Services practice, which focuses on early stage/ emerging technology companies. Working with both publicly traded and privately listed clients, Eugene’s main focus is to help companies at all stages of growth and in various industries by leveraging his experience in start-up to high-growth environments, acquisitions, financings, and accounting for revenue recognition and unique transactions.

Petra Kuester is the CFO of Db Schenker of Canada, a subsidiary of the Transport and Logistics Division of Deutsche bahn. Db Schenker is one of the world’s leading providers of integrated logistics services with 91,000 employees worldwide and 1,700 in Canada. In her capacity as CFO, Petra is responsible for finance & accounting, controlling, credit & collections, risk management and compliance. Under her leadership, the financial integration of BAX Global (Canada) Ltd. was successfully completed, the credit management function has been enhanced, andcorporate controlling has been optimized. Petra is ac- countable for the company’s financial integrity and performance whilst ensuring the adherence to and compliance with policies and guidelines.
Petra held previous roles at the company’s head office in Essen, Germany. She managed the finance team for five years and worked as controller for the Region North (Scandinavia, UK) for two years.

He left CIBC in 2007 to manage his own company, based in Toronto, and now works with groups interested in developing or improving their ability to work together. He is also a part-time instructor in the Management Department at UTSC. Hugh has an MA in conflict management from Royal Roads University and is the author of the book The Arts of Influence: Soft Power and Distant Relationships.
