November 10-11, 2006
LIVE Conference 2006 was a two-day event at the gorgeous Holiday Inn on King. 150 delegates from across Canada arrived Thursday morning and finished after the awards dinner on Friday evening. As part of the LIVE experience, all meals, social activities and hotel accommodations were included with the delegate fee of $150.
The LIVE Challenge, holding true to its intense and integrative roots, began immediately. Delegates were grouped into teams of 5, where each of the 30 teams acted as hypothetical companies having been poorly managed in the past. Consequently, teams acted as board directors and took on the responsibility of turning their company around by expanding their product offerings in a competitive global marketplace. Teams were required to make multiple rounds of decisions, each affecting in some way other teams, between R&D, HR, Marketing, Production, and Finance.
Throughout both days, delegates also attended workshops and sessions featuring dynamic speakers from the professional community. Delegates were invited to a special Corporate Connections Evening at the Rotman School of Management featuring Canada’s top employers and a keynote speech from Phil Sorgen, President of Microsoft Canada.
