Ambassadors

We are now actively looking for Ambassadors for LIVE 2012! This is a great opportunity for you to join our LIVE team as we start the journey to another amazing conference. This is a great opportunity to further develop your skills, represent your university while gaining a very valuable experience!

Overview

The Ambassador Program provides an opportunity for students who do not attend the University of Toronto Scarborough to become a part of the LIVE 2012 Team! This program is designed to connect external Delegates with LIVE Ambassadors and LIVE Conference. As an Ambassador, you will have the opportunity to represent LIVE at your school, as you act as a liaison between students in your campus and LIVE Conference.

Responsibilities

The Ambassador Program is a vital component to the success of LIVE; it is the main channel that LIVE uses to bring Delegates from external universities to LIVE Conference. Through the active participation of the Ambassador, this program increases student awareness of the LIVE Conference in their school. With the assistance of the LIVE External Relations Manager, Ambassadors will produce and execute marketing strategies that target potential Delegates.

Ambassador responsibilities include:

  • Be the primary point of contact for students inquiring about the LIVE Conference
  • Reach out to potential Delegates through various mediums of communication at your university
  • Connect with relevant groups in your university to promote the LIVE Conference and develop shared partnerships
  • Keep in frequent contact with the LIVE External Relations Manager
  • Represent LIVE Conference at your university

Why?

Being a LIVE Ambassador is rewarding both intrinsically and extrinsically. You get the opportunity to:

  • Develop your communication, marketing and essential soft skills while conversing with potential Delegates, the LIVE Conference 2012 team and more specifically, the External Relations Manager
  • Expand your professional network with the many opportunities that are provided while being involved with LIVE
  • Experience an opportunity like no other
  • Be rewarded for representing LIVE with excellence and additional prizes

Past universities involved with LIVE Conference include:

  • Brock University
  • Carleton University
  • McMaster University
  • Ryerson University
  • Queens University
  • Simon Fraser University
  • University of Alberta
  • University of British Columbia
  • University of Guelph Humber

  • University of Ottawa
  • University of Toronto – Mississauga
  • University of Toronto – St. George
  • University of Waterloo

This year, the Ambassador Program is open for up to two (2) Ambassadors per University. This will allow you and your partner to collectively develop a strategy to create a LIVE presence and attract students to LIVE Conference.

LIVE Ambassadors have the opportunity to receive a bursary towards their own delegate fee.
